CBD is hydrophobic, meaning it does not dissolve in water. There are several ways to make CBD water-compatible, so that it can be used in liquids like water, soda or juice. Other active ingredients or botanical extracts can be added to create unique and custom CBD drinks.
Bioavailability of CBD drinks
Studies have suggested that water soluble CBD has significantly increased bioavailability compared to sublingual oils. The reason is that in water, the CBD can pass through the stomach more quickly, resulting in less stomach acid breakdown and liver metabolization. Ideally, CBD is released in the small intestine.

CBD can be added to pure water, creating a CBD drink or CBD shot. The water will take the flavour of the water soluble input. This flavour is more noticeable for water soluble CBD distillates than it is for water soluble CBD isolates.
CBD Water can be pressurised with CO2, creating CBD sparkling water. As with the CBD water, the flavour of the CBD ingredient is noticeable in the water, giving the drink a hempy identity. Isolates have less of a ‘nose’ than distillates.
A tonic is a drink that invigorates or promotes well-being. Tonics have a bitter note, and can be formulated well around the bitters that are present in CBD ingredients.
A soda is a carbonated sweet beverage. Sugar and syrup are typically added for sweetness, and CO2 gives the fizz. CBD Soda should be sweet, and not too bitter. Different fruit flavours, or blends of flavours, can be used to create a wide variety of sweet CBD drinks.
A lemonade is a concentrated syrup, where water or sparkling water is added. CBD lemonade can be made by blending the water soluble ingredients with the syrup. Unique and rich combinations of flavours and extracts can be used to create a balanced profile, balancing the bitters and the sweets.
Water soluble CBD can be used to make a CBD juice, using fruit juice as a basic ingredient. To preserve the product, we pasteurise the juice before bottling.
Frequently Asked Questions
When a full spectrum CBD extract is winterized and purified, some of the THC is removed and also some of the acidic cannabinoids decarboxylate. It still retains a lot of cannabinoids and terpenes but it’s not technically a full spectrum extract. We call this a broad-spectrum extract.

For orders over 5,000 units, we can develop gummies with any additives you require. Please be aware that this may incur some product development costs to ensure your additive blends well and is also stable.
White label is when you use one of our pre-existing tried and tested products. We provide the label & packaging templates and you provide the design. You will receive a finished product that has your logo and branding on it. This gives you quick entry to market with minimal investment.
Private label allows you more creativity. You may choose to have a custom blend that is uniquely formulated for you with other added ingredients or flavours. Private label can also give you more flexibility regarding the label design and outer packaging. For private label you can use different containers and bottles, and have custom made outer packaging with various print embellishments.

Our conventional oil CBD oil program is produced under ISO 22716-2007 cosmetics GMP (good manufacturing practice) and bottled under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005 regimes.
Our CBD Isolate, Distillate and Water Soluble products are produced under ISO 9000 and GMP.
Any in-office sampling or repacking is done in an ISO-5 modular cleanroom (latest validation on 16-7-2020).
